About Elaichi: Elaichi is an ancient and enduring spice that is native to the Indian sub-continent. Some of the first historical references to elaichi (cardamom) can be found in Indian Ayurvedic literature from the 3rd century BCE, and before that on clay tablets from Sumaria in 2,000 BCE. Even the names by which it is known today can be traced back to Sanskrit (Elaichi) and Latin (Cardamom).
Elaichi is the queen of spices and is widely used; you can find it in savouries (biryani) and sweets (mithai), tea and coffee, and as mentioned above - it has been noted for its medicinal properties in Ayurveda.
