What is Milan Supari?

What is Milan Supari made of?
Milan Supari is made up of arecanut (also called supari & beletnut). Arecanut (supari / betelnut) has been used as a mouth freshener for centuries in India, South Asia and many other countries and regions of the world because of its natural mouth cleansing properties. Milan Supari also contains sugar, natural food colour, permitted artificial sweetener and our proprietary flavours.
When and where was Milan Supari launched?
Milan Supari was launched on 21st May, 1962, in Bombay (now Mumbai), India. It is one of the first, if not the very first flavoured supari product in India. The popularity of Milan Supari quickly spread all over the country and today it is available across the length and breadth of India - from Jammu & Kashmir all the way to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is also available outside India in many countries wherever there are Indians.

How is Milan Supari made?
Milan Supari is made with our in-house flavours that have been fine-tuned and improved over the decades. Premium grade Indian supari is manufactured with simple but high quality ingredients and processed under supervision and with a valid FSSAI food license. All ingredients used in Milan Supari Products are carefully selected and processed with finely developed flavours to give you a unique taste of age-old Indian traditions.

Milan Supari has always been manufactured under a valid food license. Over 55 samples of Milan Supari have been tested since 1980 by several different authorities (like the FSSAI Food Safety & Standards Authority, the PFA Prevention of Food Adulteration Act authorities and local municipal authorities from all over India). All these tests have found that Milan Supari conforms to the food laws (currently the FSSAI) of India, and that there is no violation of the food laws / regulations.

We make more than Milan Supari. For decades we’ve been making many more food products that our customers have enjoyed.
First - our supari products are available in several flavours - the original classic Milan flavour is accompanied by Elaichi, Kesari, Meethi and Special flavoured suparis. These are made with smaller pieces of supari that are soft and easy to chew, and are available in these 4 additional flavours for the entire group to enjoy.
We also make mouth fresheners & betel spices that are excellent breath fresheners / mouth cleansers. Our saunf / fennel products are Milan Saunf & Jhankar Saunf Elaichi Mix, and you can try Milan Elaichi Dana (flavoured saunf with a sprinkling of silver).
Our mouth freshener collection leads with Milan Khajoor, which is dry dates made with the original classic Milan flavour. It contains soft pieces that are easy to chew and which you don’t need to spit. Other mouth fresheners include Milan Mouth Freshener Meetha and Milan Betel Spice Mix among others.
You can also try Milan snacks like our Emesko Almond Dates Mix (a naturally sweetened sweet and savoury mid meal snack), Emesko Pumpkin Seeds - lightly slated to make a perfectly healthy bite, and Emesko Dhanadal - flavoured coriander seeds.
What’s the correct way to spit our supari without littering?
After enjoying your supari, make a fist with your hand and bring it close to your mouth. Spit the supari into the opening of your thumb and forefinger in the same manner you spit the seeds of any fruit. Place your fist over a waste bin and drop the supari in.
